Situated in the old town of Stratford, the Halls Croft Stratford-upon-Avon is one of the finest surviving 17th Century Jacobean town house in England and is part of the five properties ran by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. It was the home to Dr John Hall whom married Shakespeare’s daughter in Susanna as well as being Dr all's practice.

Halls Croft Stratford-upon-Avon name implies that at the time a considerable plot of land surrounded the house to which some live stock and a possible orchard may have been as well as floral gardens. Today there is still a herb garden which in the early seventeenth century would have been much used in medicine.

Today you can experience some of the beauty of such a town house with splendid examples of the half timbering and chimney stackes. For those interested in medicine you can browse the medical treatments that where used in Shakespearian times as well as Dr Halls consulting room. There are also a fine display furnishings and paintings.

Dr Hall was to say a wealthy man an today you will be charmed at what life for the couple would have been like and we hope you enjoy you visit. Remember there are also four further properties to explore such as Shakespeare’s birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s cottage just outside Stratford upon Avon.
